NASA has awarded an interim letter contract to Oceaneering International Inc. of Houston to begin work on the design, development and production of a new spacesuit system for the Constellation Program. The system will protect astronauts during voyages to the International Space Station and exploration of the moon’s surface.

Russia Will Send Life to Phobos
The Russian space agency and the US-based Planetary Society will soon be sending terrestrial life to the Martian moon Phobos. The mini-interplanetary travellers will consist of bacteria, spores, seeds, crustaceans, insects and fungi to see how biological life, in various forms, deals with space travel spanning three years.

Chinese probe crashes into moon
A Chinese lunar probe has crashed into the moon in what Beijing has called a controlled collision. The Chang’e 1 lunar satellite hit the moon’s surface at the end of a 16-month moon-mapping mission.
