Arrived safely in Daejeon

It was a veritable pleasure to swap rainy Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam for sunny, mild Daejeon! From Europe it was a nine hour flight and with a seven hour difference, this feels like a very l-o-o-n-g day!

First thing we have to report is that the Shuttle system is working fine. Normal scheduled rather than dedicated buses are running the trip from the airport and the team in Incheon Airport ensured everything ran smoothly - buying our tickets etc. and guiding us onto the bus

It cannot be denied that it is a quite a journey to Daejeon - our bus left the airport at 13:40 - right on time and we arrived in town at 16:45 - that was with little traffic problems. There was a 15 minute stop at a service station on the way.

Please note - get off the bus at the second stop in Daejeon. There is a dedicated IAC Reception desk at the 2nd bus stop who will arrange onward free travel to your accommodation. It took no time at all for us.

Though the return bus information is at time of writing missing from http://www.iafastro.com/index.html?title=IAC2009_Transportation , the scheduled buses are running so frequently there is no issue apart from taking it in good time since it is such a long journey.

best

Please note that we mentioned that the Incheon group staff "buy your tickets for you". Please note that for IAC delegates, the shuttle services are free so no money changes hands.
