Ariane 5 is being readied for its year-end launch with France's Helios 2B military observation satellite. This seventh mission of 2009 is set for 1:26 p.m. on December 9 from the Spaceport in French Guiana, with its payload to be injected into a Sun-synchronous polar orbit during a mission lasting 59 min., 23 sec.
