China building large telescope to explore space

China has been showing its ambition for space exploration over the past two years. After launching the nation’s first lunar probe -- Chang’E-1 -- in 2007, now a giant radio telescope is being built in Shanghai for space data collection. The telescope, which is worth about 2000 million yuan ($29.3 million USD), is a form of directional radio antenna used in radio astronomy. It will be used in tracking and collecting data from satellites and space probes, including those sent to Lunar, Mars and Jupiter.
