The Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) is the biggest interdisciplinary conference on space science worldwide. As a close partner of the International Astronautical Federation, we are pleased to announce the 38th Assembly.
After organising the Assembly in notable cities such as Houston, Paris and Beijing, the 38th Assembly will take place in the beautiful Hanseatic city of Bremen.
From 18 to 25 July 2010, 2500 participants are expected to join this international event taking place in the Fair and Congress Centre in Bremen, Germany. 26 presentation rooms and 2000 m2 of poster area are made available in order to give scientists the opportunity to present their latest results in space research and technology.
Embedded in this assembly is a space exhibition in the Bremen Arena, which is expected to attract attendants from over 50 countries. During the "Public Day" on Tuesday 20 July 2010 the general public will have access to selected talks and the space exhibition.
Furthermore a number of organisations will take advantage of the presence of their members at the COSPAR Assembly to organise associated scientific, business, or social events throughout the conference week.
Please submit abstracts by 19 February.
In addition to the scientific programme the local organisers provide a variety of technical visits to sites of Bremen's space industry and research, as well as guided tours to the tourist highlights for all participants and accompanying persons.
"Rich in years, yet young at heart" - the home of the Bremen Town Musicians is a delightful, multi-facetted place. It combines the charm of a Hanseatic city and port with a heritage going back more than 1200 years and the energy of a dynamic centre for science, research and technology. Experience up-close the beauty and particular character of this historic, green metropolis with a wealth of cultural and tourist attractions.
