The International Astronautical Federation was represented at a workshop within the framework of the International Seminar on Space Technology and Applications for Sustainable Development held between 24 and 27 November 2008 in Tunis, Tunisia.
The Seminar included national reports on Applications of Space Technology in National Development of participating OIC countries, lectures by experts in the field and presentation of scientific papers by participants from more than 11 participating countries.
The North African Centre for Remote Sensing (CRTEAN), Tunisian National Centre for Remote Sensing (CNT) and other local Tunisian authorities hosted the Seminar. It was co-sponsored by Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).Space Technology and Applications for Sustainable Development
