Japan considers putting robot on moon

Japan is considering putting a robot on the moon by 2020 and an astronaut by 2030, a report from a government office showed on Friday. The plans follow China’s first space walk and India’s launch of their first unmanned moon mission last year.

ISS will be 2nd brightest object in the night sky

Venus is about to be ousted as the brightest star-like object in the night sky. The next space shuttle mission, launching tonight, will deliver and install the fourth and final set of solar array wings to the International Space Station. Once the array is deployed, the station will surpass Venus as the brightest object in the night sky, second only to the Moon.
